Day 1

- Visit Putra Mosque, Perdana Putra, and Putrajaya Bridge
- Workshop: Islamic geometry, motifs, and architectural symbolism
- Evening debrief and design sketch session

Day 3
Colonial Heritage in Malacca
- Travel to Malacca (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
- Guided tour: Stadthuys, Christ Church, A Famosa Fort, St. Paul Hill
- Visit Harmony Street: Mosque, Hindu temple, and Chinese temple side by side
- Cultural immersion: Peranakan house architecture and courtyard living
- Night walk along Malacca River
Outcome: Students explore Dutch, Portuguese, and British colonial
architecture and religious coexistence in built form.
Day 4
Urban Conservation & Adaptive Reuse (Malacca)
- Lecture from local conservationist or heritage NGO
- Hands-on activity: Documenting a heritage building (sketch, photo, notes)
- Visit restored shophouses and adaptive reuse projects
- Group discussion: Balancing modernization and preservation
Outcome: Students learn practical approaches to heritage conservation.
Day 5
Travel to George Town, Penang: A Living Museum
- Morning transfer to George Town, Penang
- Walking tour of heritage sites: Khoo Kongsi Clan House, Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, Kapitan Keling Mosque
- Visit Street of Harmony to understand multicultural religious architecture
- Night reflection: Compare George Town and Malacca
- commonalities and distinctions
Outcome: Students observe Chinese, Indian, and Islamic architectural
fusion and multicultural city planning.
Day 6
Living Heritage & Modern Architecture in Contrast
- Explore Penang street art and modern museums in repurposed buildings
- Visit Hin Bus Depot (art + design hub in a heritage space)
- Optional: Visit Komtar Tower for contrast between heritage and modern design
- Closing discussion and sharing of student reflections & photo journals
- Farewell dinner
Outcome: Students critically reflect on the evolution from heritage
preservation to contemporary creativity.
